BAZE JOINS CATE AND RYAN ON THE AIR - Pressured by radio station management, Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Ryan (Kerr Smith) reluctantly agree to let Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) join them on air for what turns into a public therapy session.  Lux (Britt Robertson) tries to get Jones (guest star Austin Butler) to drop the charges against her boyfriend, Bug (guest star Rafi Gavron).  Austin Basis also stars.  Nick Marck directed the episode written by executive producer Janet Leahy. CATE CONSIDERS TELLING RYAN THE TRUTH ABOUT BAZE - In the midst of feeling like he is being pushed out of Lux's (Britt Robertson) life by Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Ryan (Kerr Smith), Baze wins the chance to compete against Ryan in a radio station contest and is determined to be the last man standing.  Cate (Shiri Appleby) contemplates finally telling Ryan the full truth about Baze, but can't bear the thought of what might happen if she does.  When Tasha (guest star Ksenia Solo) tells Lux (Britt Robertson) she may have to move three hours away to a new foster home, Lux decides to help Tasha track down her mother who is still living in town.  Austin Basis also stars.  Jerry Levine directed the episode written by Taylor Hamra. ANNIE'S HIT AND RUN SECRET IS REVEALED AT THE WEST BEVERLY WINTER DANCE - Navid (Michael Steger) is convinced Jasper (guest star Zach Sherman) pushed him down the stairs and turns to Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) to help reveal the information.  Annie (Shenae Grimes) is confronted by her friends about Jasper's drug dealing but when she confronts him about the news he reveals his suspicions about her involvement in the hit and run.  Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Silver (Jessica Stroup) decide to spend Christmas break in St. Barts but first make an appearance at the beach club for the winter dance.  Teddy (Trevor Donovan) reveals his feelings for Silver, causing Dixon (Tristan Wilds) to be jealous, while Naomi and Liam (Matt Lanter) attempt to forgive each other for what happened with Jen (Sara Foster, who does not appear in the episode).  Debbie (Lori Loughlin) attempts to spend some quality time with Dixon by taking him to the arcade.  Rob Estes and Ryan Eggold also star.  David Warren directed the episode written by Jennie Snyder Urman (#212).

AMANDA REMEMBERS HER LAST VISIT WITH SYDNEY - Jonah (Michael Rady) and Riley (Jessica Lucas) decide to head to Las Vegas to elope but the day doesn't quite go as planned.  Ella (Katie Cassidy) arranges a pitch meeting for Jonah with an important producer who is interested in buying his film.  Meanwhile, Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) calls David (Shaun Sipos) after she gets in trouble with one of her male clients and Auggie (Colin Egglesfield) confesses his true feelings for Riley.  Also, Michael (Thomas Calabro) gives David information about Sydney' killer and Amanda bonds with Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) over Sydney, but of course Amanda has an ulterior motive in getting to know Violet.  Bethany Rooney directed the episode with teleplay by Chris Fife and story by Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer (#111).

THE NEW KIDS IN TOWN / SEAN FARIS GUEST STARS - As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) try to figure out the identity of the new vampire in town, Stefan gives Elena (Nina Dobrev) jewelry filled with Vervain to protect her family and friends.  Hurting for money, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes a job at the Mystic Grill, where former high school football star Ben (guest star Sean Faris, "Never Back Down") works as a bartender.  Ben comes to Bonnie's (Katerina Graham) aid when he notices Damon is bothering her.   Damon and Stefan accompany Elena to a school dance with a 1950s' theme, where Alaric (guest star Matt Davis) introduces himself to Damon.  Steven R. ZOD UNLEASHES A VIRUS INTO METROPOLIS - Zod (Callum Blue) and his soldiers release a virus into the air that turns humans into zombies.  The only way to stop it is to make an antidote from the blood of another Kryptonian.  After Lois (Erica Durance) is infected, Chloe (Allison Mack) pleads with Clark (Tom Welling) to donate his blood to stop the epidemic even though it risks outing him to Zod.  Michael Rohl directed the episode written by Jordan Hawley (#3X5253).

DC COMICS' CHARACTER ROULETTE SHOWS OLIVER HER CARDS - Oliver (Justin Hartley) is drugged and kidnapped by a woman named Victoria AKA Roulette (guest star Steph Song), who tells Oliver that he's involved in a dangerous game and must fight for his life.  After Victoria shows up dead and Oliver is arrested by the police, he turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help.  Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) berates Clark (Tom Welling) for not telling her about Oliver's suicide attempt.  Cassidy Freeman and Callum Blue also star.  Kevin Fair directed the episode written by Genevieve Sparling (#3X5256).
