SEVEN ONE-HOUR COMEDY STAND-UP SPECIALS

 

 

 

May 20, 2020 (Burbank, CA) Continuing its commitment to original summer programming, The CW Network is set to air THE CW HAPPY HOUR featuring the broadcast television premieres of seven one-hour comedy stand-up specials.

 

Beginning Tuesday, June 9 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT), THE CW HAPPY HOUR will feature stand-up performances by renowned comedians Louie Anderson (“Baskets”), Barry Brewer (“Bruh”), Bryan Callen (“Schooled”), Marina Franklin (“Trainwrecked”), Jim Gaffigan (“Chappaquiddick”), Tom Papa (“The Marriage Ref”) and Alice Wetterlund (“Silicon Valley”). THE CW HAPPY HOUR will continue to air on Tuesdays through Tuesday, July 21.

JIM GAFFIGAN: NOBLE APE

Comedy powerhouse Jim Gaffigan has made a career out of finding the extraordinary in the ordinary with his hilarious yet biting observational style. In his sixth comedy special, Gaffigan steers away from the conventional as he is faced with the medical crisis that hit his family. Using humor to deal with the unthinkable, Gaffigan proves that indeed, laughter is medicine. JIM GAFFIGAN: NOBLE APE is directed by Jeannie Gaffigan.

BRYAN CALLEN: COMPLICATED APES

Bryan Callen records his third special in Chicago’s historic Thalia Hall and reconsiders our debate on all-things equality. Taped in front of two sold out crowds at the Studebaker Theater in his hometown of Chicago, this stand-up comedy special is the culmination of Brewer’s real-life experiences interwoven with over fifteen years as a stand-up comic. BARRY BREWER: CHICAGO I’M HOME is directed by Barry Brewer. The special is executive produced by Brian Volk-Weiss, Barry Brewer and Jasmine Monet Brewer.

ALICE WETTERLUND: MY MAMA IS A HUMAN AND SO AM I

Follow comedian/actor Alice Wetterlund as she reveals her personal struggles with peeping toms, cat-rearing, alcoholism and the secret alien conspiracy behind new country music in her breakout comedy special, “My Mama Is A Human and So Am I.” Wetterlund shines in this tour de force hour long special taped at the Gothic Theater in Denver, CO. ALICE WETTERLUND: MY MAMA IS A HUMAN AND SO AM I is directed by Brian Volk-Weiss.

TOM PAPA: FREAKED OUT 

Comedian Tom Papa returns to Cleveland, Ohio at his fast-paced comedic best while relating the everyman struggles of family life, falling behind to the super rich and his hilarious cure for angry young men. TOM PAPA: FREAKED OUT is directed by Jay Chapman.

 

Each comedy standup special is executive produced by Brian Volk-Weiss and Cisco Henson of Comedy Dynamics, A Nacelle Company.
