KIM FLEARY NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, COMEDY DEVELOPMENT, THE CW

Kim Fleary has been named Executive Vice President, Comedy Development, The CW, it was announced today by Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW, to whom Fleary will report.  Fleary will oversee the development of all scripted comedy series for The CW.

"Kim's breadth of experience and vision have helped create many hit comedies in her career and we're confident she will repeat her success at The CW," said Ostroff.  "She has keen creative and comedic instincts and is a wonderful collaborator on every level."

Fleary joins The CW from UPN, where she served as Senior Vice President, Comedy Development since July 2002, developing such comedies as the critically acclaimed EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS from Chris Rock, and ALL OF US from executive producers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, both of which will be on The CW schedule this fall.

Prior to UPN, Fleary oversaw development for Brandon Tartikoff's H. Beale Company, which produced programming for all broadcast media. 

Fleary began her career in comedy development at ABC, ultimately rising to the post of Senior Vice President, Comedy/Variety Series Development.  During her tenure there, she was instrumental in the development of several top-rated and long-running sitcoms, including "The Wonder Years," "Roseanne," "Home Improvement," "The Drew Carey Show" and "3rd Rock From The Sun," to name a few.

Born and raised in New York, Fleary is a graduate of New York University.  She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, producer/writer Richard Albarino, and their sons, Nicholas and Patrick.
