Jennifer Pierce in “Black Lightning”

China Anne McClain stars as Jennifer Pierce, the youngest, yet very headstrong, daughter of Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) in The CW’s hit drama “Black Lightning.”

McClain has been acting professionally since she was 5 years old. She is best known to kids and families worldwide for her starring role as music prodigy Chyna Parks in Disney Channel’s popular series “A.N.T. Farm,” for which she received an NAACP Image Award. She also had a co-starring role as math and science genius Gabby in the Disney Channel original movie “How to Build a Better Boy.” Additionally, she made the exclusive list of “10 TV Stars to Watch” by Variety magazine in 2018.

McClain is also recognized for her starring role as the cunning and confident Uma, daughter of Ursula from “The Little Mermaid,” in “Descendants 2.” She also starred as the quick-witted Jazmine Payne in “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.” A talented singer, she was also featured on the series “Sing Your Face Off,” in which she transformed into and performed as musical icons Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, James Brown, Rihanna and Michael Jackson, among others.

She made her feature film debut in “The Gospel,” opposite Idris Elba and Nona Gaye. Soon after, McClain was chosen by Tyler Perry and Reuben Cannon to co-star in Tyler Perry’s feature film “Daddy’s Little Girls,” along with her sisters Sierra and Lauryn McClain. Additional acting credits include feature films “Grown Ups,” “Grown Ups 2” and “Hurricane Season,” and guest starring roles on numerous hit television series including “NCIS,” “Bones,” Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “JONAS L.A.” and “Hannah Montana.” Most recently she could be seen in “Descendants 3.”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, McClain currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
