David Hanley in “Burden of Truth”

Alex Carter plays David Hanley, the cold, conniving lawyer who would do anything for a win in The CW drama “Burden of Truth.”

Carter was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in Scarborough. He is best known for his roles in “CSI: Las Vegas,” “Burn Notice,” “Veritas the Quest,” and “Out of Time” with Denzel Washington. His Canadian credits include series regular roles in “Black Harbour,” and “These Arms of Mine” as well as recurring roles in “Traders,” “Due South” and “Made in Canada.”

In his career, Carter has appeared in over 25 movies of the week and his theater credits include The Royal Alex and The Williamstown Theater Festival. Most recently he appeared in the movie “Don't Sleep” alongside Carey Elwes and Drea de Matteo.

Carter lives in California and is a dual citizen.
