Gideon in “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”

 

 

Amy Pemberton stars in The CW series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” as Gideon, the Waverider’s cheeky Artificial Intelligence and super-computer. Over the years Gideon has become much more than a navigation tool to the team – she’s a bonafide Legend. And in this season, not just in spirit. Human Gideon is joining the team ready to finally get in on the action. As a computer, Gideon is used to knowing everything about everything but as a human, she will quickly learn that theory is different from practice. 

 

Pemberton graduated with a BA with Honors from the Arts Educational Schools London in 2004. She has worked extensively in theater, television, film, and voiceover in both the UK, USA and Canada.

 

Her television and film credits include Stephen Soderbergh’s’ “The Laundromat,” “Sergio,” “Her Pen Pal,” “Mechanic: Resurrection,” “24 Hours to Live,” “Geostorm,” “Zoo Keepers Wife,” “Storage 24,” “Scorpion,” “Arrow,” “The Commander: Blacklight III,” “Grown Ups,” “GEGG Wars,” “Casualty” and “Doctors.”

 

Pemberton has also had leading roles in London’s Original West End Productions including Ariel in “Footloose” opposite Derek Hough, Sherrie in “Rock of Ages,” Lorraine in “Jersey Boys” and the title role in “Cinderella.” Further theater credits include “Grease!,” “Dirty Dancing,” “Dick Whittington,” “In Touch,” “Notes In Heels,” and “We Three” (directed by Nicholas Pinnock). 

 

Her voice is also well-known on video games such as Dr. Grey in “Call Of Duty: Black ops - Cold War,” Penny in “Fortnite,” Slone in “Titanfall 2,” Elaena Glenmore in “Game of Thrones,” Private Sally Morgan in “Doctor Who,” Fiona in “Doc McStuffins,” Loki in “Marvel Heroes,” Rameri in “Eleven Eleven,” Vanguard in “Dropzone,” “Unchartered: A Thief’s End.” 

 

Since graduating from ArtsEd, Pemberton has taught at numerous professional colleges in the UK including ArtsEd, Mountview, London School of Musical Theatre, Guildford School of Acting and West Suffolk College. She has worked as an assistant casting director, assistant choreographer and most recently as a producer. She has also trained at Mario Campanaro’s Mc2 Actors Studio in Los Angeles / UK and in improv at UCB in Los Angeles. Additionally, she is a proud patron of “Headway - The Brain Injury Association.”
