Xiomara Villanueva in “Jane The Virgin”
In The CW’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy series “Jane The Virgin,” Andrea Navedo plays Xiomara, Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) young and hip mom, who wants her daughter to have all the opportunities she wasn’t given. After marrying the love of her life, Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camil), she began her strong fight against breast cancer.
Navedo is enjoying a thriving career. She portrayed Debbie Dominguez on the hit series, “How to Make It In America” and recurred heavily on the various “Law & Order” shows. She has also starred in films such as “Superfast,” “Once Upon a Time in Queens” alongside Paul Sorvino, as well as the romantic drama “Remember Me,” opposite Robert Pattinson. Navedo can be seen in the David Ayer and Max Landis feature “Bright” opposite Will Smith.
The Puerto Rican beauty has garnered glowing accolades for her role as Xiomara Villanueva. She accepted the 2015 Imagen Award for Best Supporting TV Actress as well as the Elizabeth Pena Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2015 HOLA Awards.
Navedo is a Bronx native. She divides her time between New York and Los Angeles where she lives with her husband and two kids. In her spare time, she loves taking salsa lessons and enjoys hiking and camping with her family.
