ALEXANDER NUNEZ

Sammy Finley-Cullen in “Moonshine”

Alexander Nunez stars as Sammy Finley-Cullen in The CW’s new series “Moonshine.” Adopted family darling, musician in the Moonshine band and the “smart” Finley-Cullen, Sammy has the potential to do anything with his life. For now, he’s happy to squander all that potential at the Moonshine. That’s because Sammy is driven by loyalty, love and dedication to his family, in particular, his mother, Bea (Corrine Koslo). The Finley-Cullens are the only family he’s known, and in his eyes, can do no wrong. So the last thing he wants is for the family to fall apart.

Nunez is a Canadian actor and writer of Jamaican & Chilean decent. He is most well-known for his roles in “Wish Upon” and “Avocado Toast.” Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Nunez showed a keen interest in performing and began his acting career at age 17. Nunez began booking roles while studying theatre and psychology at the University of Toronto. He has guest-starred on several notable shows, including “Kim's Convenience,” “The Bold Type,” “In The Dark” and “A Teacher.”

Nunez is also a screenwriter — he wrote and produced “Diversity Hire,” which has received an Award of Commendation for a Comedic Short Film during the 2019 Canada Shorts Film Festival.

Currently residing in Etobicoke, when he is not working, Nunez enjoys running, pencil sketching, singing, traveling, and writing.
