BENJAMIN EVAN AINSWORTH
Mark Critch in “Son of a Critch”
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth stars as Mark Critch in The CW’s new comedy series “Son of a Critch.”
British actor Ainsworth began acting professionally at a young age and has been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play some very diverse and uniquely challenging roles. He starred in the title role of Pinocchio opposite Tom Hanks in Walt Disney Pictures’ live action remake of “Pinocchio” for director Robert Zemeckis. Additionally, he can be seen in David S. Goyer’s epic “The Sandman” for Netflix opposite Tom Sturridge.
In 2019, Ainsworth spent nine months in Vancouver, shooting the series “The Haunting of Bly Manor” for Netflix under Mike Flanagan. His performance as the orphaned, deeply-troubled and volatile Miles Wingrave has earned him critical acclaim, described as “exceptional” and one of the “most delicate and captivating performances in a horror story ever captured.”
During his time in Canada, Ainsworth also concluded principal photography on Disney’s film “Flora & Ulysses” in which he plays William Spiver. Prior to this film, Ainsworth shot a short film/pilot called the “Recycling Man,” portraying an AI robot named Jacob.
On stage, he has played William Beech in “Goodnight Mister Tom,” Kurt in “The Sound of Music” and Benji in the hit musical “Priscilla, Queen of The Desert.” He has also starred in TV commercials in Italy and Malta and in 2018 played a small role in ITV’s “Emmerdale” in the UK.
In his spare time, Ainsworth enjoys playing rugby and hockey and is a huge Liverpool FC supporter. He also loves singing, song-writing, music producing and playing the drums.
