SARAH SCHECHTER

Executive Producer on “Superman & Lois”

 

Sarah Schechter is an executive producer on The CW’s hit series “Superman & Lois.”

 

Schechter, along with her producing partner Greg Berlanti, produces both television and film. She serves as executive producer on Warner Bros. Television’s “Riverdale,” “The Flight Attendant,” “You” and “Prodigal Son,” as well as the WBTV/ DC Comics superhero shows  “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Titans,” “Doom Patrol,” “DC’s Stargirl,” and “Batwoman.” She is also an executive producer on the upcoming show “Girls On The Bus” and “Green Lantern,” as well as recent shows  “Blindspot,” “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” “God Friended Me,” “The Red Line,” “Katy Keene” and “Arrow,” as well as the unscripted series “Equal” and “Helter Skelter.” 

On the film side, Schechter produced Joe Wright’s “Pan,” Shawn Levy’s “Free Guy” starring Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer, as well as upcoming films from filmmakers Jennifer Kent, Greg Berlanti, Michael Grandage, among others. 

Before joining Berlanti Productions, Schechter spent nine years at Warner Bros. Pictures serving as Senior Vice President of Production. During her tenure at Warner Bros., she oversaw a myriad of films, including Spike Jonze’s “Her” and Clint Eastwood’s “Gran Torino.” Other projects include Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows,” “Invictus,” “J. Edgar,” “Life as We Know It” (directed by Berlanti), “I Am Legend,” and “300: Rise of an Empire.”

Schechter joined Warner Bros. as a creative executive in 2005, ascended to vice president in 2007 and then senior vice president in 2009.

Prior to joining Warner Bros., Schechter was an executive at Barry Mendel Productions at Universal Pictures for several years. While there, she oversaw “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” and worked on “Munich” and “The Royal Tenenbaums,” among others. She began her career working for Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple.    

Schechter graduated with Honors with a degree in Film Theory from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
