Jesus in “The Chosen”

Jonathan Roumie stars as Jesus in the epic drama “The Chosen.”

Actor, director, producer, and voice-over artist, Jonathan Roumie was born and raised in New York City. Roumie graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a degree in filmmaking before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.

Roumie is best known for his award-winning role as ‘Jesus’ in The Chosen, a groundbreaking multi-season historical drama based on the life of Jesus. Additional TV credits also include “Chicago Med,” “The Mindy Project,” “The Good Wife,” “Law & Order,” and the NCIS franchise. Roumie’s latest voice-over endeavors include the Disney+ animated sequel “Night at the Musuem: Kamunrah Rises Again.”

Most recently Roumie starred on the big screen in Lionsgate’s 70’s period drama “Jesus Revolution” playing the real-life, enigmatic hippie street preacher Lonnie Frisbee. “Jesus Revolution” has currently grossed over $50 million dollars at the box office and continues to defy industry expectations.

Roumie serves as Strategic Advisor for the HALLOW APP, the largest and most popular prayer and meditation app in the world. He currently resides in Southern California.
