Dan Patterson is a highly successful, award-winning TV producer.  Alongside collaborator Mark Leveson, Patterson has created and produced both the British and American series of popular improvisation show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and the successful British satirical panel show “Mock the Week.”

Patterson’s career began as a producer for BBC Radio and, following the success of Radio 4’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” in 1988, he moved to independent TV production company Hat Trick productions.  There he created and produced a TV incarnation of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”   The show was immensely popular and ran for ten years on Channel 4, winning numerous awards including awards from BAFTA and the Royal Television Society.

Patterson created and produced a number of other shows at Hat Trick, namely “Clive Anderson Talks Back” for Channel 4, and later “Clive Anderson All Talk” for BBC.  He also developed and produced “Room 101” for BBC Two.

In 1998, Patterson took “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” to America, producing it for ABC television.  Hosted by sitcom star Drew Carey, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” proved to be a major hit.  The show, co-executive produced by Mark Leveson, starred Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Wayne Brady, who won an Emmy award for his role on the show.  Guests included Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, David Hasselhoff and Jerry Springer.

In 2004, Patterson established Angst Productions, a London-based independent production company specializing in TV comedy shows.  Since 2005, Patterson has produced highly popular panel show “Mock The Week” for BBC2.  The twelfth series of the show goes into production in June 2013.

In 2011, Patterson co-created and produced the improvisation show “Trust Us With Your Life” for ABC.  The show starred Colin Mochrie, Wayne Brady and Jonathan Mangum, and a variety of top celebrity guests.
