Andrea Menard is a multi-talented Métis performer from Treaty 1 territory now living in Vancouver. She is a 16-time music award winner, a five-time Gemini-nominated actress, and was recently named “Métis Artist of the Year” at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards in Ottawa, and ACTRA National’s "Woman of the Year" in 2021.  


Menard is well known for her leading, Gemini-nominated television roles in MOCCASIN FLATS (Big Soul Productions,) WAPOS BAY (Dark Thunder,) RABBIT FALL (Angel Entertainment/Red Cloud Studios,) and her critically acclaimed performance in her self-penned made-for-tv movie, THE VELVET DEVIL. THE VELVET DEVIL is Andrea’s one-woman musical stage play that toured across Canada and was adapted into a made-for-television movie for the CBC series Opening Night. Menard also wrote and starred in SPARKLE (Wabunganung Films,) a holiday TV special that broadcast on APTN/CBC and earned Andrea her fifth Gemini nomination.  She co-starred in the gritty dramatic series BLACKSTONE (Prairie Dog Pictures) for which she received a 2014 Leo Award nomination, and the northern medical series, HARD ROCK MEDICAL (Carte Blanche Films.)

 

Menard has released five albums, including her latest musical release, Anskoonamakew lii Shansoon, which is a Michif language album. She has released twosymphony pops concerts of original music, and her theatrical cabaret, Rubaboo, is currently touring across Canada.
