NETTA WALKER

Keisha McCalla in “All American: Homecoming”

In The CW’s hit drama “All American: Homecoming,” Netta Walker stars as Keisha McCalla, who is entering her senior year at Bringston with the hopes of making it as a professional dancer. But as she reaches for her dream, she’ll be met with challenges she never would’ve imagined.

Walker is an accomplished Jeff Award-winning actress and multidisciplinary artist, best known for her work in “Yen” (Raven Theatre, Chicago; Jeff Award for Best Supporting Performer), and in 2019, she was recognized as one of the Chicago Times’ “Hot New Faces.” She performs with the Jeff Award-winning Sideshow Theatre Company as an ensemble member and has been seen on many of Chicago's most esteemed stages, including the Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Court Theatre. Her most recent transition from actor to writer, with Definition Theatre’s Amplify Play Festival, led her to study playwriting at Trinity College and participate in workshops at The Goodman and Remy Bumppo Theatre Company.  She was recently accepted into the prestigious professional acting program at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), completing her studies while filming season three of “All American: Homecoming.”

Walker is also known for her supporting role in the indie film “Come As You Are” (SXSW, Cannes), opposite Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe, Janeane Garofalo, and Ravi Patel.

On television, she is also known for her roles on “All American,” “The Big Leap,” and “Chicago Fire.”

Born and raised on the vibrant Westside of Jacksonville, Florida, Walker’s unique background-a blend of Filipina and African-American heritage-fuels her passion for promoting multicultural representation in media and entertainment. She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Chicago.
