Nisha in “Children Ruin Everything”
Veena Sood stars in The CW’s new comedy series “Children Ruin Everything.” Astrid (Meaghan Rath) and Dawn’s (Nazneen Contractor) mother, Nisha is an enthusiastic, breathless, and ‘fun’ grandmother, recently retired and loving it, and has a zest for life and seeking new adventures.
Sood is an award-winning actress known for her versatility in theatre, film, television, and improv. By age 20, she had completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at The University of Calgary. She co-founded Calgary’s Loose Moose Theatre Company, best known for developing the world-renowned Theatresports improv format.
Sood has been awarded numerous honors for her body of work, and contributions to the artistic community in Vancouver, including The Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award and UBCP/ACTRA’s Sam Payne Award for her contributions in humanity, artistic integrity, and encouragement of new talent. She is also a recent recipient of British Columbia’s FANS award – celebrating her achievement in the arts. Additionally, Sood is a three-time Jessie Richardson nominee/winner for her theatre work, and a Leo Award nominee/winner for her television work over the years.
Recently, Sood enjoyed working with Oscar®-winning directors Peter Farrelly in “Loudermilk” and Robert Zemeckis in “Welcome to Marwen.” She’s made guest appearances in numerous TV series including “The Twilight Zone,” “Away,” “The Indian Detective” and “Super Pupz.” She can also be seen in the film “The Wedding Season.”
An outdoor enthusiast, Soon enjoys kayaking and hiking the British Columbia coastline and heli-hiking and horseback riding the Canadian Rockies.
